Requirements
As an SQL Analyst at Simple Machines, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing, querying, and interpreting complex data sets to support data-driven decision-making for our clients. Collaborating closely with data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, you will help unlock the value of data through precise and efficient SQL queries and reports.
The required skills that we’re after:
- 4-5 years commercial experience (ideally in a consulting environment)
- Deep experience with SQL.
- Solid project experience with building data projects in DBT.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of benefits and trade-offs between analytical and transactional databases.
- Experience with one or more data warehouses, e.g. BigQuery.
- Experience with query performance optimisation.
- Understanding of benefits between modelling techniques.
- Programming experience, ideally Python.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in Apache Airflow
- Broad knowledge and experience across at least one Cloud platform (AWS and/or GCP)
