About the Role

We're hiring an Ecommerce Manager to take ownership of the entire ecommerce growth engine for a fast-growing ecommerce brand.

This role is responsible for driving growth across acquisition, conversion, retention, and customer experience. While paid media remains an important component of the role, success will be measured by overall ecommerce performance—not simply advertising metrics.

We're looking for someone who understands the complete ecommerce customer journey and can identify growth opportunities across every stage of the funnel. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable analyzing advertising performance, optimizing Shopify storefronts, improving conversion rates, influencing creative strategy, refining retention programs, and uncovering opportunities through customer behavior data.

While a dedicated creative team produces design assets and content, this role is expected to actively influence creative strategy, identify winning messaging angles, provide performance-driven recommendations, and collaborate closely with creative resources to improve campaign and website performance.

You'll work directly with company leadership and play a key role in shaping the company's ecommerce growth strategy.

What You'll Be Doing

Ecommerce Growth & Store Performance

  • Own the overall performance of the ecommerce store and customer journey.
  • Identify growth opportunities across acquisition, conversion, retention, merchandising, and customer experience.
  • Analyze customer behavior and performance data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Drive initiatives that improve revenue, conversion rate, average order value, and customer lifetime value.
  • Present growth opportunities and strategic recommendations to leadership.

Shopify Store Optimization & CRO

  • Own ongoing optimization of the Shopify storefront.
  • Improve product pages, collection pages, landing pages, navigation structures, merchandising experiences, and checkout flows.
  • Identify and resolve customer friction points across desktop and mobile experiences.
  • Implement theme-level Shopify improvements where appropriate.
  • Work with developers on more advanced website enhancements and functionality updates.
  • Develop and execute conversion rate optimization initiatives.
  • Test and optimize offers, bundles, upsells, cross-sells, product presentation, and purchase flows.
  • Use customer behavior insights to improve website performance and user experience.

Creative Strategy & Performance Optimization

  • Analyze creative performance across paid advertising and onsite experiences.
  • Identify winning creative angles, messaging themes, and customer motivations.
  • Develop creative testing hypotheses and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and content creators to improve campaign and website performance.
  • Provide performance-driven guidance to creative resources based on data and customer behavior.

Paid Media Management

  • Own and manage Meta Ads and Google Ads accounts.
  • Develop campaign structures, audience strategies, testing frameworks, and scaling plans.
  • Upload and manage creative assets provided by the creative team.
  • Build custom audiences, lookalike audiences, retargeting campaigns, and prospecting strategies.
  • Monitor and optimize campaign performance to improve ROAS and reduce CPA.
  • Manage budget allocation across acquisition channels.
  • Implement and maintain accurate tracking, attribution, pixels, Conversion APIs, and event tracking.

Retention Marketing

  • Own performance analysis and optimization of email marketing programs.
  • Manage customer segmentation, lifecycle campaigns, automated flows, and retention initiatives within Klaviyo.
  • Optimize abandoned cart, browse abandonment, welcome series, win-back, and post-purchase campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer retention, repeat purchases, and lifetime value.
  • Improve engagement metrics, deliverability, and email-attributed revenue.

Technical SEO

  • Conduct technical SEO audits and implement improvements.
  • Manage indexing, crawlability, schema markup, structured data, and website health.
  • Optimize metadata, internal linking structures, and site architecture.
  • Monitor search performance and identify opportunities for organic growth.
  • Partner with content and development resources when needed.

Analytics & Customer Insights

  • Monitor performance across acquisition, conversion, retention, and SEO channels.
  • Analyze customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and lifetime value metrics.
  • Use tools such as GA4, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, and Shopify analytics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Deliver monthly reporting with actionable recommendations and business insights.
  • Translate data into clear growth initiatives and execution plans.

Required Experience & Skills

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of experience driving growth for ecommerce or DTC brands.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing Meta Ads for ecommerce businesses.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing Google Ads, including Search, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns.
  • Proven experience owning and improving the full ecommerce funnel—from acquisition through conversion and retention.
  • Strong Shopify experience with direct involvement in storefront optimization, merchandising, conversion funnels, and customer journey improvements.
  • Demonstrated success improving ecommerce conversion rates through CRO initiatives.
  • Experience optimizing product pages, collection pages, landing pages, offers, bundles, upsells, and checkout experiences.
  • Experience using behavioral analytics tools such as Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Lucky Orange, or similar platforms.
  • Experience developing creative testing strategies and providing performance-based creative recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce metrics including ROAS, MER, CPA, CAC, AOV, LTV, conversion rate, and retention metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with Klaviyo, lifecycle marketing, segmentation, automation flows, and retention strategies.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge.
  • Experience using GA4 and ecommerce analytics tools to identify performance opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make data-driven recommendations.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience editing Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong ecommerce UX knowledge.
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms and experimentation frameworks.
  • Experience working with DTC consumer brands.
  • Understanding of AI search optimization and LLM-driven discovery.

Typical Day

A typical day may involve reviewing ecommerce performance, analyzing customer behavior, identifying conversion bottlenecks, optimizing Shopify experiences, evaluating creative performance, improving paid media campaigns, refining Klaviyo flows, implementing CRO initiatives, collaborating with developers, and presenting growth recommendations to leadership.

You'll regularly move between acquisition, conversion, retention, merchandising, analytics, and customer experience initiatives depending on business priorities.
