Sustainability Manager

Job Description

This role is based in our London office and reports directly to the Head of Customer Strategy & Sustainability within our Sustainability & Insight team. You will step into a vital position as the dedicated full-time sustainability professional at Gousto, driving our collective sustainability goals forward across the entire business.

In this position, you will be responsible for turning our overarching sustainability goal of “Every Meal Leaves the World Better Off” into a commercial and operational reality. You will oversee the sustainability strategy, track progress against our impact targets, and collaborate cross-functionally to build a more sustainable business model. While you will manage a broad portfolio of environmental and social impact areas, you will place a special strategic focus on Health and Climate initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

• Identify sustainability opportunities across Gousto and collaborate with partners to deliver data-driven strategic insights
• Prioritise activities based on social and environmental impact while aligning with broader business needs
• Maintain and enhance progress monitoring frameworks against established sustainability targets
• Represent the sustainability function on key workstreams, specifically leading the delivery of Gousto’s Climate Transition Plan and Health initiatives
• Lead internal and external sustainability reporting, including the annual impact report, SECR, and annual carbon baseline calculation
• Manage compliance and administrative requirements for mandatory schemes, including ESOS and CCA
• Coordinate and execute the end-to-end business-wide B Corp recertification process
• Engage and educate internal stakeholders on sustainability priorities, metrics, and business targets
• Manage external stakeholder relationships, lead the annual materiality assessment, and collaborate with the Marketing team on external communications
• Lead supply chain sustainability initiatives, contributing directly to risk mapping, partner engagement, and supply chain governance

Who You Are

• A genuine passion for delivering tangible social and environmental impact within a fast-paced business context
• Strong experience managing sustainability initiatives, ideally within a medium-to-large organisation or the food sector
• Sophisticated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate and build networks across all business levels
• Outstanding project management and organisational skills
• Confidence in managing, interpreting, and organising large sets of sustainability data
• Ability to produce and deliver clear, succinct reports and presentations tailored to diverse corporate audiences
• Experience with impact measurement, monitoring, or evaluation frameworks
