Expert Devops Engineer (m/f/d)

Job Description

Activity description and concrete tasks:

• Deploying and maintaining infrastructure and YaRD applications on Google Cloud.
• Operating the clusters (TCaaS and GCP) and proactively handling application alerts (troubleshooting and informing customers).
• Updating the public user guide and communicating with customers via the support desk and user chat.
• Using existing monitoring tools to proactively identify issues that may affect customers.
• Expanding existing monitoring capabilities to also cover the GCP environment.
• Taking weekly maintenance responsibility (maintenance windows) for our applications running in Kubernetes clusters.
• Writing scripts and tools to improve and enhance DevOps processes.
• Working in an Agile team and actively participating in daily stand-ups, three-week sprint ceremonies, and weekly technical sessions.
• Participating in on-call duty (currently voluntary, becoming mandatory in the future).

Qualifications

Must have:

• Team player with a strong willingness to learn.
• Good knowledge of container and cloud technologies and their lifecycle (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Flux) and related tools.
• Experience with GitOps practices.
• Experience in maintaining systems and proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
• Experience with Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
• A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the services you provide.

Optional skills:

• Terraform.
• Grafana and Prometheus.
• TCaaS (Das SCHIFF, Germany).
• Experience with hyperscalers and public cloud platforms.

Tools & Platforms:

• Magenta CI/CD (GitLab, JFrog Artifactory).
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Helm charts, FluxCD, and GitOps.
