Job Description

So, what are the main responsibilities of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Specialist in Netcompany? 

As a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Specialist you will:

  • Administer, maintain, and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Terminal Server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for end users across the institution.
  • Manage and contribute to the lifecycle of standard workplace configurations, including the deployment, maintenance, testing, and continuous improvement of desktop and virtual desktop solutions.
  • Design, package, test, and deploy applications using MSI packaging, App-V, and other application virtualization and distribution technologies in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Provide technical expertise in remote computing architectures, supporting the design, integration, and optimisation of virtual workplace and remote access solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis related to VDI, terminal services, application delivery, and end-user computing platforms.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure compliance with the clients IT policies, best practices, and service management processes while contributing to modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role: 

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Full professional proficiency in English (minimum C1 level or equivalent), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) design, deployment, administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Citrix technologies, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop), NetScaler (Citrix ADC), and associated virtualization and application delivery solutions.
  • Extensive experience managing and supporting Windows standard configurations, endpoint management, and desktop operating environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server technologies, and enterprise Microsoft infrastructure services.
  • Practical experience working with Linux operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of VMware technologies, including VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VMware Horizon for virtualization and virtual desktop delivery.
