Job Purpose
The ELV / ICT Engineer shall be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) systems as part of MEP consultancy services, ensuring compliance with project requirements, local codes, international standards, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Prepare concept, schematic, detailed design, and tender drawings for ELV/ICT systems, including:
Structured Cabling Systems (SCS – copper & fiber)
Data & Voice Networks
CCTV & Video Surveillance
Access Control Systems
Intrusion Detection / Burglar Alarm
Public Address & Voice Alarm (PA/VA)
IPTV / SMATV / MATV
Building Management System (BMS) interfaces
Audio-Visual (AV) systems
Intercom & Parking Management Systems
Develop system architectures, riser diagrams, layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
Perform load calculations, bandwidth calculations, and equipment sizing.
Select appropriate equipment in line with project specifications, standards, and budget.
Standards & Compliance
Ensure designs comply with:
Local authority regulations
International standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, IEC, NFPA, BS, EN)
Client and operator requirements
Coordinate approvals with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
Coordination
Coordinate ELV/ICT designs with:
Electrical, Mechanical, and Architectural disciplines
IT, Security, and AV specialists
BIM and CAD teams
Resolve clashes and ensure integrated MEP design delivery.
Documentation & Deliverables
Prepare:
Design reports
Technical specifications
Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
Cost estimates
Tender and IFC documentation
Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements during construction phase.
Support site teams with technical clarifications and design revisions.
Construction & Commissioning Support
Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
Attend design coordination and site meetings.
Review as-built drawings and system documentation.
Software & Tools
AutoCAD / Revit (BIM preferred)
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
ELV design tools (e.g., cable calculation, network planning tools – advantage)
Experience
3–10 years of experience in ELV/ICT design within MEP consultancy or contracting
Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, or mixed-use projects
Data center or mission-critical project experience is a plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of ELV & ICT systems and integration
Knowledge of MEP coordination processes
Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings
Good communication and coordination skills
Time management and ability to handle multiple projects
Problem-solving and attention to detail
Preferred Attributes
Experience working in multidisciplinary design teams
Familiarity with authority submission procedures
Exposure to BIM-based design workflows

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering
