Job Description
This role requires the successful candidate to:
- Have good understanding of Permanent Way and Railway infrastructure around it
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and carry out design of track alignment and perform supporting calculations,
- Perform concept, preliminary and detailed design as well as review the design and drawings
- Carry out and manage the design and on-time delivery.
- Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications
- Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to ensure successfully delivery of the tasks/project.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team,
- Be able to use industry software and tools to drive efficiencies.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for rail projects
- Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepare technical specification and reports.
- Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree and/or master’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in railway / trackwork in consulting firm.
- Have experience in designing rail infrastructure assets on projects within Asia.
- Have a good working knowledge of design, procurement, construction and handover of rail and transit infrastructure assets;
- Be skilled in the use of OpenRail/Power Rail Track, 3D modelling in collaboration with other disciplines in Common Data Environment.
- Experience in using CAD software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD
- Be structured, logical, and analytical;
- Be motivated by challenges;
