Staff/Senior Test Automation Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff/Senior Test Automation Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our test automation strategy across products and platforms. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with architectural leadership to improve software quality, accelerate delivery, and drive engineering excellence. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Define and drive the organization's test automation roadmap. 
• Design scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks. 
•  Establish automation standards, best practices, and governance. 
•  Drive shift-left testing practices and quality engineering initiatives. 
•  Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. 
•  Mentor engineers and conduct code and framework reviews. 
•  Define strategies for performance, load, scalability, and reliability testing. 
•  Track automation coverage, defect escape rate, test stability, and release readiness. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

• 5-10 years of software testing and quality engineering experience. 
• 5+ years of hands-on test automation development experience. 
• Strong programming skills in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript. 
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test suites using modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, and API testing frameworks, with demonstrated expertise in designing scalable and maintainable test automation solutions. 
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems. 
• Experience with CI/CD practices and Agile development. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. 
• Experience with performance testing tools. 
• Experience in SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environments. 
• Experience with accessibility and security testing.

• Reduce flaky test rates. 
• Shorten test execution times. 
• Increase confidence through automated quality gates. 
• Mentor engineers and improve quality culture.
