Job Description
Ensure the day to day mine geology resources are optimised through daily underground inspections, quality data capture, and excellent communication with stakeholders.
- Grade control activities underground. This includes lithological and structural mapping, sampling, ore/waste delineation of development and stoping activities.
- Complete stope reconciliation reports
- Provide accurate and complete geological data including sampling, assay, logging, orientation, and mapping information required to enable generation of geological models, presentations, and reports
- Data entry of geological data including dispatches, assay results and validation of QA/QC data
- Maintaining correct sampling protocols
- Supervision of underground technicians and sampling operations, including sample preparation
- Undertake logging of grade control drill core in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure Assay Lab receives and processes samples, and provides assay results in a timely manner
- Analysis and reporting of assay quality control data
- Ensure Project Mine Geologist has all the information necessary to process grade control data for presentations and reports.
- Liaise with Engineering and production personnel to ensure that grade control and geology functions are carried in accordance with and consistent with the goals and objectives of the Mining Department
- Scheduling and communication of weekly/monthly planning to relevant contractors and business partners as required.
Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualification – minimum B Sc. Geology
- Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 Years Post-Graduate experience preferred
Work Knowledge:
- Sound technical skills in Geology
- Mapping and Interpretation skills
- Sampling Theory
- Strong PC skills and computer literacy
