Job Description

At TAL, this Analyst role plays a meaningful part in strengthening how we protect Australians when they need it most. Embedded within the Line 2 Risk function, the role helps translate trusted data into clear insights that support informed decision‑making across the business. By enabling reliable risk and compliance reporting for leaders and the Board, this work underpins confidence, transparency and long‑term sustainability. It’s an opportunity to build strong foundations in life insurance while contributing to outcomes that genuinely make a difference to customers’ lives

In this role you will:

  • Maintain trusted Power BI dashboards that deliver accurate, decision‑ready risk and compliance insights.
  • Continuously improve reporting solutions by responding to user‑driven enhancements as dashboards are embedded across the business.
  • Enable reliable BAU risk reporting for Executive and Board Committees through timely, consistent and high‑quality outputs.
  • Support smooth transition of new reporting solutions into BAU by providing ongoing maintenance and operational stability.
  • Resolve data quality issues by triaging exceptions and coordinating timely action with relevant business teams.
  • Coordinate change requests end‑to‑end to support effective governance and well‑managed delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

  • You bring a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and question anomalies.
  • You’re keen to grow your technical capability, building hands‑on confidence with tools like Power BI or similar platforms.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, adapting your style to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • You’re collaborative by nature, working well across teams to align on needs and shared outcomes.
  • You’re comfortable navigating change and ambiguity, staying flexible as priorities and environments evolve.
  • You’re curious about risk, compliance or financial services, with a genuine interest in developing domain knowledge over time.
