Job Description
As an NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Inspector at SGS New Zealand, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and quality of a wide range of industrial operations.
This position is based in Taupō, offering an excellent lifestyle in the heart of the North Island, with stunning natural surroundings and a strong outdoor culture.
In this full-time role, you will work across a diverse client base, supporting major industries including dairy, power generation, oil and gas, chemical processing, pulp and paper, construction, and light engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a range of non-destructive testing techniques, including visual inspection (VT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and liquid penetrant testing (PT)
- Interpret test results and prepare clear, detailed reports for clients
- Maintain accurate records in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with clients to understand their testing needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Continuously develop your technical capability in emerging NDT technologies and methodologies
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements
Qualifications
- AINDT or PCN, Level 2 certifications in the following - UT2 Welds, MT2 and PT2 are essential
- ISO 9712 - Phased Array certification and Certified Welding Inspection (CWI) would be an advantage
- Minimum 5 years practical work experience in NDT
- Customer and client service focus.
- A current driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites around NZ.
- Able to use computers and technology.
- Able to work well with others in a team environment.
