  • +$2/hr -> Monday-Thursday Nights
  • +$6/hr -> Friday-Sunday Nights
  • +$2/hr -> Saturday-Sunday Days

What You'll Do:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is vital in delivering comprehensive care focusing on the administration and documentation of medications, transcribing provider orders, and performing continuous assessments. The role encompasses gathering detailed data on behavioral and physical health, including substance use history, and accurately documenting observed behaviors and interventions. Additionally, the LPN is responsible for educating individuals and their families about behavioral health diagnoses and medications during both admission and discharge, aiming to enhance treatment adherence and overall care outcomes.

  • Nursing Support and Collaboration:
    • Contribute data for the Nursing Assessment, ongoing re-assessment, and health history under the direct supervision of an RN.
    • Collaborate with the RN on the individual’s care plan, reporting pertinent information such as blood glucose levels, CIWA/CINA scores, and breathalyzer results.
  • Medication Administration and Documentation:
    • Transcribe Provider orders and administer medications as prescribed.
    • Coordinate with individuals to sign medication consent forms.
    • Perform chart checks, sign off as a secondary verifier for prescribed medications, and ensure accurate medication reconciliation and storage.
  • Clinical Tasks:
    • Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by Providers.
    • Accurately record all medications brought in by individuals.
  • Behavioral Health Support:
    • Assist Behavioral Health Specialists in managing the milieu and gathering information related to psychopharmacological and physiological needs for both youth and adults.
    • Provide education on physical health, psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, and psychopharmacology to individuals, their families, and others involved in their care.
  • Crisis Intervention:
    • Use appropriate verbal interventions to defuse potentially dangerous or out-of-control behaviors in both youth and adult populations.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in therapeutic intervention techniques, with a clear understanding of safety-related roles and responsibilities.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Administer emergency medications as ordered during seclusion/restraint processes under supervision of Registered Nurse.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of psychotropic medications and their applications.
  • Additional Duties
    • Perform any other duties as assigned to support the team and individuals in care.

What You'll Bring:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
  • An unrestricted, active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Virginia Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege
  • 2 years of experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant field
  • Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques
  • The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
  • State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance
  • Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check
  • Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search
  • Physical Requirements
    • Safely perform physical interventions (e.g., standing, pivoting, reaching, kneeling, lowering to the floor, and supporting another person’s weight)
    • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
    • Tolerate prolonged walking, standing, and observation in a fast-paced environment
    • Work with individuals who may exhibit agitation, aggression, or unpredictable behavior

It would be great if you had:

  • Knowledge of EHR systems
  • QMHP credential
