At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease portfolio. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.

We are seeking a passionate Global Medical Scientist to join our Global Medical Affairs organization. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert within rare endocrinology and support the development and execution of global medical strategies across Ascendis Pharma’s growing portfolio. You will work closely with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, and local affiliate teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of global initiatives.

You will be joining the Global Medical Office and report directly to the Senior Global Director, Global Medical Office. The position is based at our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support the development and execution of global medical strategies, medical narratives, and strategic imperatives across the Ascendis Pharma portfolio.
  • Generate and communicate medical insights related to disease areas, treatment landscapes, competitive developments, and unmet patient needs.
  • Support global medical education initiatives, congress activities, advisory boards, and engagement with key external stakeholders, including KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and medical societies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support evidence generation activities, including real-world evidence, observational studies, and Phase IV programs.
  • Partner closely with local medical teams to ensure alignment and execution of global medical strategies and tactics.

Qualifications and Skills

You hold an advanced scientific degree such as MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent, and have at least 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, preferably in Medical Affairs.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Strong experience interpreting, communicating, and applying clinical data in a scientific and strategic context.
  • Experience working within endocrinology, rare diseases, or other specialized therapeutic areas.
  • Solid understanding of Medical Affairs, drug development processes, and global pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to build trusted partnerships and work effectively in a complex global matrix organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders.

Travel: Approximately 20% international travel.
