Job Description
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this role involves operating a large truck in our underground mine, transporting material from one location to another. The role offers the opportunity to develop a career in mining & the flexibility and lifestyle of a 50/50 roster, 7 days on / 7 days off alternating between day and night shift (12-hour shifts).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Operate large vehicles underground
- Pre-start and shut down checks on all equipment
- Load and transport material
- Working as a member of a larger team
- Communicating with a wide variety of people
- Housekeeping of vehicles and loading area.
Qualifications
- A full, clean, current driver’s license and be confident driving a manual vehicle
- Applicants must have immediate working rights / Visa for New Zealand
- Have the ability to communicate well within a team environment and over the radio
- Have a high interest in heavy machinery - previous machinery experience well regarded
- Be a safety conscious individual, committed to maintaining an excellent safety record
- Pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
