Job Description

Avery Dennison Oak Harbor will be facilitating on-site interviews Tuesday 6/30/26 from 10am-12pm & 2pm-4pm

Ideal candidates must be able and flexible to work one of the assigned shifts:

  • Finishing 2nd Shift: 2pm-10pm M-F

Hourly rate starting at $20/hour/hour with shift differentials starting at $2/hour. The rate within this range is dependent on the individual's working department

Job Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for leading machine set-ups and changeovers, problem-solving, making decisions on machine adjustments, and inspecting and packaging finished products to customer specifications. In addition, the Production Operator will be responsible for operating various coating, finishing, and/or powered industrial vehicles to move inbound and outbound products.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Perform routine set-up and changeover of machines, making adjustments as needed to process operations accordingly.
  • Run orders per product specifications and standard practices. This may include sorting, labeling, and packaging products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
  • Perform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring tools, tape measures, etc. 
  • Understand and implement quality standards and procedures
  • Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity. 
  • Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
  • Maintain the work area with necessary supplies to complete processes
  • Operate heavy equipment to move, load, and ship material and/or finished products throughout the manufacturing environment. 
  • Support inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts and correcting discrepancies to achieve business goals. 
  • Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility.  
  • Contribute and participate in team decision-making processes including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instruction
  • Must prioritize safety in every aspect of the working environment adhering to established safety practices, policies, and procedures
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, and move around for extended periods

Physical Requirements:

  • Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
  • Lifting: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 50% of your shift.
  • Environment: May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures.
