Job Description
The Technical Services Engineer serves as an internal application engineering partner, supporting the development, review, and execution of hydraulic system solutions. This role acts as a key link between Application Engineering, Sales, and internal design teams—ensuring technical accuracy, project progression, and successful validation of customer-driven solutions.
This position is designed as a development pathway into Application Engineering, providing hands-on exposure to system design, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.
Travel: Up to 25%
Application Engineering & Project Support
- Review hydraulic system designs and applications for technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with customer requirements
- Support project progression through the engineering release process, coordinating with internal design teams
- Assist in generating technical concepts and preliminary quotes using internal configuration tools
- Clarify technical requirements between Application Engineering, design teams, and sales
- Initiate and support engineering changes through internal processes
- Identify opportunities to improve project flow, communication, and execution across functions
Customer & Internal Technical Support
- Provide technical support to Sales, Application Engineering, and customers via shared support channels (email, phone)
- Interpret technical drawings, product models, and system documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Troubleshoot basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues and recommend solutions
Application Lab & Testing Support
- Support lab testing activities for hydraulic systems and components
- Translate high-level test requests into structured instructions for lab execution
- Assist with setup of test equipment, including hydraulic test benches and data acquisition systems
- Perform initial data validation checks to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to full testing cycles
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and system documentation
- Foundational knowledge of hydraulic systems and/or willingness to develop expertise
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred
- Internship or early-career experience in hydraulics, mechanical systems, or application engineering
- Exposure to testing, lab environments, or data analysis
- Experience with CRM or engineering systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar)
- Basic knowledge of electrical controls or data acquisition systems
Additional Information
Salary Range is $78,000 to $86,000 annually
