Job Description
As a Managing Consultant (Rail Systems Integration) within the Egis Rail business, your impact will be in providing senior technical leadership across rail systems, systems engineering, systems integration and interface management for rail and metro projects. Reporting to the Rail and Rolling stock Lead VIC, you will act as a subject matter expert across the rail systems discipline, supporting project delivery, client engagement, tenders and capability growth across Victoria and the broader ANZ market.
You will also:
- Lead technical inputs across major rail projects, including rail and metro systems, rolling stock and signalling projects as required. These projects may include both Victorian and interstate opportunities.
- Support the development of opportunities across Egis, particularly within transport. This includes leading or contributing to proposals, tenders, client meetings and presentations, and supporting the growth of Egis’ rail systems capability and market presence in ANZ.
- Engage on international projects as required, as a subject matter expert providing rail systems expertise across delivery and pursuit opportunities.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will have at least 10 years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated expert knowledge of integrated rail and metro systems. You will bring strong technical judgement, the ability to lead multidisciplinary inputs through influence, and the capability to support delivery, pursuits and client engagement across the rail systems space. You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline (Systems, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering qualifications desired)
- CPEng or equivalent registration highly desired
- RPEV/RPEQ (ability to obtain mandatory)
- Demonstrated technical expertise in automated rail and metro systems (GoA4) is desirable
- Experience in high-speed rail is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of rail systems packages such as control systems, rolling stock, signalling, OCS, comms, SCADA and HV & LV electrical systems
- Demonstrated expertise in systems integration and interface management for rail & metro projects (nationally and/or internationally)
- Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and, where required, delivery management across project phases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly developed client management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and provide technical direction through influence
- Exceptional written and planning skills
- Able to work independently, while aligning with broader team, project and market priorities
- Analytical and technical mindset
