Job Description
The P2P Senior Associate is responsible for accurate and timely execution of Accounts Payable invoice processing (PO and Non-PO) with strong exception handling, control compliance, and first-line governance.Â
The role focuses on validating invoice accuracy (tax, coding, approvals), resolving discrepancies, supporting GR/IR and open-item follow-ups, and contributing to month-end close readiness, aging reduction, and audit compliance, while acting as a key escalation point for complex transactions.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
🔹 Invoice Processing & ValidationÂ
Process PO and Non-PO invoices in SAP with high accuracy and timelinessÂ
Perform detailed validation of tax, coding, approvals, and duplicate checksÂ
Ensure correct execution of 3-way match (PO, Invoice, GR)Â
Deliver strong first-time-right (FTR) performanceÂ
🔹 Exception Handling & Control GovernanceÂ
Resolve invoice holds, discrepancies, and complex exceptionsÂ
Act as escalation point for issues raised by Junior AssociatesÂ
Ensure adherence to SOPs, controls, and SOX compliance requirementsÂ
Maintain first-line control checks and exception governanceÂ
🔹 Reconciliation & Close SupportÂ
Support GR/IR reconciliation and open-item follow-upsÂ
Perform vendor statement validation and discrepancy resolutionÂ
Contribute to month-end processing, accrual inputs, and close readinessÂ
Ensure completeness of supporting documentation and audit trailÂ
🔹 SLA, Productivity & Queue GovernanceÂ
Manage workload to meet SLA/KPI targets (accuracy, cycle time, aging)Â
Maintain and update productivity, aging, and exception trackersÂ
Support queue prioritization and backlog reductionÂ
Ensure timely closure of assigned transactions and exceptionsÂ
🔹 RCA, Continuous Improvement & GovernanceÂ
Identify recurring issues and support root cause analysis (RCA)Â
Contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Â
Support standardization and continuous improvement initiativesÂ
Highlight risks, inefficiencies, and control gapsÂ
🔹 Stakeholder & Query ManagementÂ
Coordinate with procurement, requestors, finance/controllers, and treasuryÂ
Handle vendor queries related to discrepancies and statement follow-upsÂ
Provide timely and accurate updates on issue resolutionÂ
Support knowledge sharing and guidance to P2P associates (non-people management)Â

Qualifications
🎓 Education & ExperienceÂ
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related fieldÂ
3–6 years of experience in P2P / Accounts Payable operationsÂ

Strong hands-on experience in:Â
Invoice processing (PO & Non-PO)Â
3-way matching and exception handlingÂ
AP controls and compliance (SOX awareness)Â
GR/IR and vendor reconciliation basicsÂ
⚙️ Technical SkillsÂ
Experience with SAP (invoice processing, GR/IR visibility)Â
Familiarity with AP workflow / OCR / portal toolsÂ
Proficiency in Excel Â
