Context

Our sales team is organized by segment (imaging, salaried health centers, and the Liberal segment : independent private practices, from single-doctor offices to larger groups of practitioners). The Liberal segment is SMB and mid-market: short sales cycle (1–3 months), high velocity, ~70% of pipe from outbound (cold call mainly). Today it has no dedicated lead : AEs report straight to the Head of Sales, and with the scale who can no longer be present enough to coach them day to day. We're hiring a Sales Team Lead to own and scale this segment.

Your Mission

Lead and scale the Liberal segment sales team as a player-coach: close in your own name in the first 4-6 months to build legitimacy with the team and the market while coaching the team (30% closing/70% coaching), then move into full management, turning Liberal segment into a predictable, high-velocity segment where each AE sign 400K ARR per year.

The role, in two phases

  • First ~6 months : player-coach. You carry your own quota (1–1.5 deals/month, ~30% of your time, ~10-20K ARR average deal) to earn credibility, while coaching the 3 current AEs of the team day to day: call reviews, 1:1s, pipe reviews, and the rituals that make the team perform.

  • From ~6 months : full management. Once the team reaches 4–5 FTEs and the segment runs on clean rituals and forecasting, you hand off personal closing and move to full-time management: hiring, ramping, performance, and scaling the segment.

Expected outcomes after a year

  • The Liberal AE team hits or beats 400K ARR deployed per AE, with a team closing rate held above 30% (open deal → won) and each AE running 8–10 first meetings per week.

  • A structured, predictable segment: team rituals, clean pipeline hygiene, and a forecast accurate to <5% with every CRM deal correctly qualified.

  • You've hired and ramped the Liberal AEs to 4–5 FTEs and completed the transition from player-coach to full management.

  • A retained, motivated team, with limited churn.

This role gives you

  • Full ownership of a segment, with a clear player-coach-to-manager path.

  • Direct work with the Head of Sales and the founders, with the mandate to build.

  • The chance to design the rituals, objectives, and tooling of a team from the ground up.

  • A fast learning curve in a scale-up growing 6x, France then Europe.

This role is for you if

Must have:

  • You've been a top full-cycle AE in short-cycle SMB/mid SaaS sales, outbound and cold-call heavy, with a proven closing track record.

  • You've already had revenue responsibility for a team of IC sales for at least a year (even as a lead/coach carrying your own pipe), and you coach hands-on: call reviews, 1:1s, CRM-driven pipe reviews.

  • You're an excellent communicator and a natural leader, legitimate to inspire and manage junior-to-mid profiles (0–3 years).

  • You're a builder: you create the rituals, the objectives, and the tooling, and you work cross-team (partnerships, ops, CRM).

  • Managerial courage and integrity: you know how to grow your team while putting the company first, you’re team player.

Nice to have:

  • You've sold to independent professionals / private practices (doctors, lawyers, etc.).

This role is NOT for you if

  • You became a "manager" by changing companies and titles, without a proven IC/closing track. We want someone who earned the path (ideally BDR → AE → Lead).

  • You don’t want to be hands-on : this role requires a building mindset and a strong day to day presence for your team, not a long-distance and/or high level management style.

  • You prefer remote-first work: this role needs strong in-office presence to coach the team day to day.

Perspectives

This role is built to grow with Vocca. In the first phase you build legitimacy and the segment's operating system (rituals, pipe hygiene, forecasting) as a player-coach. You then shift into full management of the Liberal team. As the segment scales, the role can grow into a Head of segment / BU lead path (the same IC → manager → BU-lead trajectory we already run on other segments) across France and then Europe.

  • (On site) Culture fit with Eliott (CEO and co-founder) : 30 minutes.

  • References: 2–3 calls.
