Geocgi is seeking a GIS Analyst to support mission-critical geospatial operations within a Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force environment. This role focuses on advanced geospatial analysis, cartographic production, GEOINT support, and operational planning activities that directly support military missions and decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical expertise, experience working with defense geospatial systems, and the ability to translate complex spatial information into actionable intelligence products supporting operational requirements. This role will be performed onsite at U.S Scott Airforce Base Monday through Friday. 901 South Drive, Scott AFB, IL 62225
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced geospatial analysis utilizing imagery, terrain, feature, and sensor data to support operational missions and decision-making.
- Develop high-quality geospatial products including maps, reports, briefings, dashboards, and interactive visualizations tailored to mission requirements.
- Apply geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) principles, methodologies, and analytical techniques to support mission planning, situational awareness, and operational analysis.
- Perform spatial modeling, geostatistical analysis, and advanced geoprocessing to derive actionable insights from geospatial data.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy through validation, verification, and quality control procedures.
- Support Air Force and Department of Defense mission requirements through geospatial analysis and operational planning activities.
- Collaborate with military personnel, program stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver effective geospatial solutions.
- Lead geospatial projects and provide technical guidance to junior analysts and team members.
- Support development and improvement of geospatial workflows, methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Manage geospatial datasets and promote interoperability, accessibility, and secure data sharing across systems and organizations.
- Present findings, recommendations, and analytical products to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The following are requirements of the GIS Analyst:
- U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (e.g., Secret or Top Secret) may be required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Intelligence, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience performing geospatial analysis and geospatial product development.
- Demonstrated expertise with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, remote sensing tools, and related geospatial technologies.
- Strong understanding of geospatial analysis techniques, cartographic principles, and spatial data management.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or U.S. Air Force programs and operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
The following are preferred of the GIS Analyst:
- Experience supporting Air Force geospatial programs such as GeoBase, AFGIMS, or related systems.
- Knowledge of military operations, mission planning, and operational workflows.
- Experience with GEOINT analysis and intelligence production processes.
- GISP, GEOINT Professional Certification (GPC), or similar industry certifications.
- Experience leading geospatial projects and mentoring junior staff.
- Familiarity with enterprise geospatial databases and cloud-based geospatial environments.
The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $60,000 $75,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
