The Role

T1 Energy is seeking a highly experienced Physical Security Supervisor to lead and administer all aspects of physical security operations for a large-scale manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for protecting employees, visitors, facilities, intellectual property, and company assets through effective security leadership, investigations, emergency preparedness, access control administration, and incident response. The Physical Security Supervisor serves as the site's primary security administrator, overseeing day-to-day security operations, conducting internal investigations, managing badging and access control programs, and coordinating Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activities. This role requires exceptional judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to make sound decisions in dynamic and high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate brings a law enforcement, military, or corporate security background with demonstrated experience in tactical operations, investigations, critical incident management, and security program administration.

What You'll Do
Security Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily physical security operations to ensure a safe, secure, and well-controlled facility environment.

  • Serve as the primary administrator for site security programs, policies, procedures, and operational controls.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve security processes that protect employees, facilities, equipment, information, and company assets.

  • Monitor security performance, identify vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risk.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Investigations & Incident Management

  • Conduct internal investigations involving security incidents, policy violations, theft, workplace misconduct, property damage, threats, and other matters impacting employees or company assets.

  • Gather facts, conduct interviews, analyze evidence, prepare investigative reports, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information and investigations.

  • Support threat assessments, workplace violence prevention initiatives, and incident reviews.

Access Control & Security Systems

  • Manage employee badging, visitor management, access authorization, and physical access control processes.

  • Oversee the operation and administration of security systems, including:

    • CCTV and video surveillance systems

    • Electronic access control systems

    • Alarm monitoring systems

    • Visitor management platforms

  • Troubleshoot security technology issues and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and upgrades with vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain security records, access logs, and documentation in accordance with company requirements.

Emergency Operations & Response

  • Oversee Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activities and support incident command functions during emergencies.

  • Coordinate security response efforts during critical incidents, natural disasters, severe weather events, medical emergencies, and other security-related events.

  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in emergency drills, exercises, and preparedness activities.

  • Partner with local law enforcement, fire departments, emergency management agencies, and first responders as necessary.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to security personnel and contract security providers.

  • Establish performance expectations and promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct training and development activities to enhance security awareness, emergency response capabilities, and operational readiness.

  • Support security staffing, scheduling, and resource planning activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Human Resources, Facilities, Operations, and site leadership to address security concerns and support business objectives.

  • Provide security guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding risks, incidents, and security program improvements.

  • Support executive visits, special events, and other activities requiring enhanced security planning and coordination.

Qualifications
Required Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience with demonstrated experience in investigations, tactical operations, emergency response, special operations, or supervisory assignments; OR

  • Minimum of 4 years of military service combined with significant corporate, industrial, physical security, law enforcement, or investigative experience.

  • Experience conducting investigations, preparing reports, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.

  • Experience managing or supporting critical incident response, emergency operations, or incident command activities.

  • Experience leading teams or supervising personnel in a law enforcement, military, or security environment.

  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Corporate security, manufacturing, industrial, energy, logistics, critical infrastructure, or data center security experience.

  • Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC), command center, fusion center, or similar operational environment.

  • Experience administering access control, badging, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and security technology platforms.

  • Military police, criminal investigations, detective, tactical team, SWAT, federal law enforcement, or protective services experience.

Education

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, military service, law enforcement experience, and directly related security leadership experience will be considered.

  • Relevant law enforcement, military, investigative, emergency management, or corporate security experience may be substituted for formal education.

Certifications
Preferred certifications include:

  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP)

  • ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP)

  • FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) certifications

  • Other relevant security, emergency management, or law enforcement certifications

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and security management software platforms.

  • Knowledge of physical security principles, investigations, incident response, threat assessment, workplace violence prevention, and asset protection.

  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and meet site access requirements.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to support after-hours incidents, emergency response activities, weekends, and special events as needed.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
