Continuously monitor financial performance against budgets, providing insightful analysis and high-quality commentary on material variances to drive informed decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting, including monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements, in line with UK GAAP/IFRS and corporate accounting standards. Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external and internal auditors, ensuring audits are completed successfully and a robust financial control environment is maintained.
  • Provide financial control and business analysis across the UK portfolio, integrating project and operational finance. This includes overseeing development and construction budgets, cash flow forecasting, and financial models for major projects, and ensuring these are reflected in forecasts and reviews. Support business case evaluations and investment decisions (e.g. new projects, M&A) with rigorous financial analysis and scenario modelling, ensuring key financial risks and value drivers are well understood.
  • Uphold strong financial governance, implementing effective internal controls and local finance policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with Statkraft’s corporate policies and relevant regulations. Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and systems, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and the quality of financial data and reporting within the UK business.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive financial reports for key stakeholders – including monthly operational performance reports, quarterly business reviews, Board and shareholder updates, and submissions to Group Finance – effectively communicating financial results, opportunities, and challenges to support strategic decision-making.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the UK finance team (one Finance Manager and two Business Controllers), fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and professional growth. Provide direction and support to direct reports, ensuring effective workload management and full alignment of the team’s outputs with business goals.

Coordinate with Group Finance, regional finance colleagues, and other departments (Tax, Treasury, etc.) to align UK financial activities with broader group standards and initiatives.
  • Serve as the principal finance partner for the UK management team, contributing financial insight to business strategy and decisions. Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders (auditors, JV partners) and represent the UK finance function in management forums and group finance discussions, ensuring the UK perspective is well-represented in European finance planning.
