The Work
The SAP Finance Consultant is responsible for business process analysis, system analysis, solution design, and translating business requirements into technical requirements within an enterprise SAP environment. You will work closely with architects, developers, technical services teams (BASIS, Middleware, Portal), and other business analysts to support SAP modules and systems that integrate with external applications. Your role includes maintenance, enhancements, and development activities across SAP environments.
You will participate in the full lifecycle of SAP changes, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and implementation. You will provide change management and training support, and you will be required to participate in on‑call operational support. Success in this position requires advanced knowledge of SAP Federal Financials, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work across highly integrated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform business process and system analysis across SAP Finance, Controlling, and Funds Management
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Support design, configuration, testing, and implementation activities within SAP ECC or later versions
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and technical teams (BASIS, Middleware, Portal) to ensure end‑to‑end solution alignment
- Troubleshoot system issues and support ongoing sustainment activities
- Provide change management support including training, documentation, and knowledge transfer
- Participate in on‑call support for critical SAP operations
- Support integration between SAP modules and external government systems
Here’s What You Need
- 7 years of SAP experience, including at least 3 years in Federal Financials or Public Sector Accounting
- Two full implementation or deployment lifecycle project experiences
- Expertise in Finance, Controlling, and Funds Management modules of SAP ECC 7.0 or later
- Extensive experience with USSGL, government year‑end and month‑end processing
- Strong functional experience with AA, AP, AR, GL, Budgetary Ledger, billings, cash advances, interest expense, and related functions
- Functional integration experience with PS, HR, SD, MM, PP, and PM modules
- Experience using BW and ECC queries for financial reporting
- Knowledge of ABAP components and ability to debug
- Experience with interfaces, particularly those involving government systems
- Discrete manufacturing SAP experience
- Solution sustainment experience
Eligibility Requirements
- US Citizenship required (no dual citizens)
- Eligible to obtain a Government Secret Clearance
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
