Senior Workplace Engineer (M365 & PowerShell) with German

Job Description

Our client is a trusted partner in the financial-banking sector in Germany, both in the public and private sectors who offers services for over 150,000 banking workstations and for more than 4,500 employees. It covers over 60% of banking sector in Germany.

Responsibilities  

• Design and deploy decentralized solutions for customer applications using PowerShell scripts and distribution platforms such as MECM/SCCM and Microsoft Intune — because doing something three times manually simply isn't your style
• Manage system integration and configuration via Group Policies, registry settings, and configuration files to ensure seamless operation of Microsoft 365 Apps
• Drive proactive monitoring and continuous optimization of the platform, operational processes, and tooling landscape
• Package applications and hand off packages into the deployment pipeline, including browser-based and local workstation installations
• Act as a 2nd-level support contact for application errors and requirements, coordinating with service providers and manufacturers to resolve issues efficiently
• Create and maintain clear, thorough technical documentation
• Collaborate across business and service areas to enable holistic adoption of the full M365 suite

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with a software distribution solution (SCCM/MECM, Intune, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft OS installation and configuration — GPOs, registry, and related management tools
• Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 Apps
• Solid PowerShell scripting skills; proficiency in additional languages (Python, C#, Java) is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in both German and English
• 5+ years of experience in a similar position

Nice to have:

• Experience in software packaging — MSI creation, InstallShield, and building configuration files
• Familiarity with AppX/MSIX packaging formats
• Experience working with Jira or similar agile project management tools
• Understanding of Windows File Services
