Job Description
As a Supply Chain Quality Engineer, you will join our Broughton team to support our activities within the aerospace manufacturing sector.
You will take ownership of supply chain quality performance, ensuring continuity of production through effective supplier management and non-conformance resolution. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will drive improvements, manage recovery actions, and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Location: Broughton (North Wales)
- On Site: 3 days per week on- site
- Clearance: BPSS required
- Experience Level: Junior to Mid-level (3-5 years)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead supply chain quality management activities to ensure continuous delivery and build sustainability
- Identify and report quality issues, perform root cause analysis with suppliers, and track non-conformities
- Support regular supplier reviews and drive recovery plans to closure
- Conduct quality inspections and reviews at supplier sites (UK, EU, and US travel required)
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure quality standards are embedded from early stages
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve supplier performance and manufacturing outcomes
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Experience in supply chain quality or manufacturing quality engineering
- Strong understanding of non-conformance management and recovery planning
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa)
- Knowledge of quality management systems and project management fundamentals
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage suppliers effectively
- Dynamic, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in aerospace, automotive, or a similar regulated industry
- Experience working with suppliers in a quality or manufacturing environment
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with Airbus or a Tier 1 aerospace supplier
- Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- Familiarity with NPI (New Product Introduction) processes
- Understanding of international supply chains and supplier audits
