Job Description

We are currently looking for a skilled Senior Android Engineer to join our dynamic team and collaborate with a fast-growing healthcare technology client focused on leveraging AI and data-driven solutions to improve health outcomes.

This is a highly technical role centered on building scalable Android applications that integrate with advanced health data platforms, connected devices, and backend services. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern Android development, mobile architecture, and delivering reliable, production-grade applications.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will contribute to the design and development of secure, high-quality mobile experiences while collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams. You will also help drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architectural decisions, and adoption of modern development practices.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, building scalable mobile solutions, and working at the intersection of mobile technologies, AI-enabled platforms, and healthcare innovation.

Qualifications

Expectations – the experience you need

• 7+ years of experience developing and supporting production-grade Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and deep knowledge of the Android SDK and Jetpack components, including Jetpack Compose.
• Experience building scalable and maintainable mobile architectures, such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, debugging, and mobile performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and data privacy principles.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in agile environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and shared cross-platform architectures.
• Experience designing and building reusable libraries, SDKs, or integration components.
• Familiarity with healthcare platforms or other regulated environments.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery and engineering workflows.
• Experience designing or implementing AI agents.
• Experience integrating AI/ML or Generative AI capabilities into production applications.
• Experience working with connected devices or complex data ecosystems.

What you will do

• Design and develop modern Android applications using Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and a shared design system.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and high-quality application logic supporting complex product workflows.
• Integrate third-party APIs, SDKs, backend services, and device interfaces.
• Contribute to shared architecture initiatives using Kotlin Multiplatform to enable cross-platform code reuse.
• Design and develop reusable SDKs and integration components for external partners and enterprise customers.
• Ensure application security, privacy, and reliability through secure development practices.
• Participate in peer code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization efforts.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Backend, and Design teams to deliver new features and continuous improvements.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted engineering tools and structured workflows to improve development speed and code quality.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and maintain high standards across the mobile platform.
