Job Description
As a Work Council Support Specialist, you will work at the heart of employee participation and corporate governance within the organization. You will support the Employee Council (Works Council) on strategic, operational, and content-related matters, contributing to the quality, continuity, and effectiveness of employee representation.
Operating in a complex stakeholder environment, you will collaborate closely with Employee Council members, senior management, HR, Industrial Relations, and other key stakeholders. You will provide advice on governance, processes, and ways of working within the framework of the Dutch Works Councils Act (WOR - Wet op de Ondernemingsraden) and actively contribute to the further professionalization of the organization.
In addition, you will be responsible for communications, digital collaboration tools, and process improvements within the Employee Council. You will support both small- and large-scale events and training programs while overseeing budgets and forecasts.
This role combines strategic insight with a hands-on approach and serves as a key link in an environment where decision-making, employee interests, and organizational development intersect.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on governance, processes, and working methods within the framework of the Dutch Works Councils Act (WOR).
- Act as the central point of contact for the Employee Council and various stakeholders.
- Maintain and further develop the "One Way of Working" within the Employee Council.
- Initiate and implement process improvements aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Develop and execute communication plans and communication materials.
- Manage and further develop the digital working environment using SharePoint, Power Automate, and Microsoft 365.
- Organize training sessions, events, and multi-day meetings.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and expenditures related to Employee Council activities.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements (Only apply if you meet these requirements)
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of demonstrable experience working for or alongside Works Councils / Employee Councils.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Dutch Works Councils Act (WOR).
- Experience managing stakeholders at senior management and executive board level.
- Proven experience in event management, organizing training programs, and budget ownership.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrable experience with communication-related activities, including communication planning and content creation.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
- Demonstrable experience with SharePoint, Power Automate, and Microsoft 365.
