 About the Position 

The IT intern will assist the network security and infrastructure team in maintaining and securing the company’s network and IT infrastructure. The intern will gain hands-on experience in network security practices, infrastructure management, and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network traffic and analyze security alerts.
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Assist in implementing and managing security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus).
  • Support incident response activities, including investigation and documentation.
  • Help maintain and update security policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network devices.
  • Support server environment management, including installation and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in regular backup and recovery processes.
  • Provide end-user support for network and security-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security policies, and incident reports

Requirements

  • A Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates pursuing relevant coursework or certifications may also be considered.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux).
  • Knowledge of network security principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with security tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network and security issues.
  • Understanding of virtualized environments.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced IT environment.

 Location and Duration

The successful interns will be based at WorldFish Headquarters in Penang, Malaysia. The internship will run for a duration of up to 5½ months. This opportunity is open exclusively to Malaysian applicants. Interviews are expected to take place as soon as possible and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and invited to attend.
