Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team on a casual basis.

This is a great opportunity for a developing chef looking to gain experience across à la carte service, breakfast buffets, conferencing and events within a professional hotel kitchen.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
  • Supporting chefs during busy service periods in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintaining consistency and quality across all food offerings
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are met at all times
  • Keeping workstations clean, organised and efficient
  • Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food wastage
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture

This role suits someone who is flexible, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • A genuine passion for food and hospitality
  • Strong willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, mornings, weekends and public holidays
