Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team on a casual basis.
This is a great opportunity for a developing chef looking to gain experience across à la carte service, breakfast buffets, conferencing and events within a professional hotel kitchen.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
- Supporting chefs during busy service periods in a fast-paced environment
- Maintaining consistency and quality across all food offerings
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are met at all times
- Keeping workstations clean, organised and efficient
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food wastage
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture
This role suits someone who is flexible, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a dynamic kitchen environment.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- A genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, mornings, weekends and public holidays
