What You’ll Do 

As Senior Digital Designer (13 month parental leave contract), you’ll be part of the NRMA in house Creative Studio, delivering high‑quality digital creative that brings our brand to life across campaigns, products and experiences. 

You’ll create designs spanning a wide range of briefs, helping us take our assets to the next level in digital environments. Your work will include developing creative ideas for owned and paid channels such as social media, email, video, website, OOH, and performance marketing. Collaborating with Brand, Marketing, Content, Performance Media, and product teams, you’ll use data-driven insights to inform effective digital design solutions and guide stakeholders throughout the process.

Our brand is evolving and you’ll play a special role in continuing to shape our new visual identity across owned and paid digital channels, championing best practice from a digital perspective and driving higher levels of engagement and consistency in the work we do.  

This role is a 13-month maximum term contract (parental leave cover) role offering a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney Olympic Park office as well as some work from home.   

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Ideate and develop creative ideas that pushes our digital creative ability to the next level. 
  • Create and deliver digital assets that demonstrate a clear understanding of different platform requirements and best practices, i.e. email, social, display ads. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest best practice in creative, AI development, campaign channels, pricing, product and service inclusions, programs and business updates to proactively look for ways to improve our approach and processes.  
  • Work closely with stakeholders and our in-house Studio team to deliver clear, digital concepts and assets for each of our audiences and channels. 
  • Provide guidance, leading a small team of digital designers. 
  • Apply data‑driven insights to your creative work and engage stakeholders in the rationale behind design decisions. 
  • Ensure that the creative effectively answers the requirements of the brief, including meeting business objectives and putting members at the heart of everything we do. 
  • Build and maintain our digital branded templates and keep our team members informed of any updates made, ensuring capability is built across the team to best utilise approved templates. 
  • Research to develop creative strategy and concepts for higher tier campaigns.  
  • Work with other designers, copywriters, Creative Director and Head of Brand and Creative to develop and deliver concept presentations selling in your ideas with key stakeholders.  
  • Receive, interpret and apply feedback to improve work, while balancing being a guardian for our brand and the way we show up for our members. 

What You'll Bring 

You’re a confident and experienced senior digital designer who combines strong creative thinking with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset. You enjoy working collaboratively, take pride in quality execution, have a flair for exploring new creative approaches and care deeply about how brands show up in market.  You will have: 

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a senior digital design role, coming from either a top-tier agency or in‑house creative team. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with a big iconic or multi-faceted brand, with capability to translate effective brand and product stories across multiple digital channels including digital display, email communications, social channels, and key ATL executions. 
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and an openness to applying them responsibly 
  • A strong portfolio of work that shows ability to interpret briefs and deliver effective digital designs solutions that maximise engagement and results, with a passion to try out new ideas or push the boundaries of creative execution. 
  • An experienced people manager, with a passion for guiding and coaching others. 
  • Exceptional skills across Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects). A keen interest in leveraging and working with video and animation in digital environments is highly desirable. 
  • Confidence designing in Figma and building emails in Braze or similar customer engagement platforms preferred. 
  • A solid understanding of responsive design, HTML and CSS (UX/UI experience desirable) 
  • Experience creating performance‑driven creative across platforms such as Meta and Google Ads. 
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • The ability to manage multiple briefs, priorities, deadlines and scope changes simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment. 
  • A collaborative, proactive attitude and genuine enjoyment working as part of a close‑knit team.
