Visual Design & Merchandising Assistant - Fixed Term

Job Description

We’re looking for a talented individual to join our Visual team on a 12-month fixed-term basis, supporting both our Visual Merchandising and Visual Design teams.

Working across a variety of projects, you’ll play a key role in bringing our store to life; from window displays and large-scale Christmas installations to in-store merchandising and eye-catching displays. This is a hands-on role where creativity, flexibility, and a keen eye for detail are essential.

You’ll help ensure all visual elements reflect the high standards and distinctive style of the Ballantynes brand, while contributing to the creation of memorable and engaging customer experiences throughout the year; including our most iconic seasonal moments.

Successful candidate

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• A passion for design and visual merchandising
• Previous visual merchandising experience or relevant creative experience would be desirable 
• Self-motivated and organised in a fast paced and physical environment
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to adapt and manage tasks effectively
• An interest in Christmas
• Full NZ drivers’ licence
• Available to travel to Timaru overnight on occasion.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month position, working Monday to Friday.

Flexibility, including overtime, may be required during the Christmas installation period.
