Platform Engineer

Overview of the Role

The Platform Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining cloud, collaboration, endpoint, backup, and infrastructure platforms that enable business operations. This role focuses on platform administration, operational support, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Manage user lifecycle activities including provisioning, licensing, access management, and identity administration.
• Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and collaboration services.
• Support Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, endpoint compliance, and device lifecycle management.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions, including Acronis and SpinOne.
• Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related incidents, requests, and operational issues.
• Assist with platform deployments, upgrades, migrations, and onboarding projects.
• Support endpoint security, compliance, and operational security initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Security, and Project teams to deliver reliable platform services.
• Assist with automation initiatives and operational process improvements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Infrastructure, Systems, Cloud, or Platform Administration.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Experience administering Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and related Microsoft 365 services.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, endpoint management, and device compliance.
• Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Experience administering Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of Entra ID administration, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and identity lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with PIM, Identity Governance, and Zero Trust concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience supporting backup and recovery platforms, including Acronis, SpinOne, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of storage technologies, file services, and data protection concepts.
• Familiarity with Endpoint Protection and EDR platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike, Sentinel One, or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of SIEM platforms and security monitoring concepts.
• Working knowledge of Acronis, SpinOne, Datto, Atera, and Zoom Phone.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation is desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills.
• Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
