Job Description

Te āhua o te tūranga | The nature of the role

In this role, you’ll be part of a tight knit and professional drilling team, contributing directly to the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of our drilling and intervention operations. Your days will see you working closely with internal teams and external partners, applying your technical knowledge in real world conditions, and making good decisions when it matters most. You’ll have a strong connection to the field, the equipment and the people around you, playing your part in keeping operations running safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You'll bring sound experience in geothermal drilling, and you understand the fundamentals of safe operations, teamwork and accountability. If you’ve worked in geothermal or similar settings and have a relevant degree, that’s a bonus, but not a barrier if you bring the right attitude and transferable skills.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe | About you

You’re someone who takes pride in your craft and understands the importance of doing things right, even when the work is complex or the conditions are demanding. You'll bring a degree and experience in geothermal drilling, and you understand the fundamentals of safe operations, teamwork and accountability. If you’ve worked in geothermal or similar settings, that’s a bonus, but not a barrier if you bring the right attitude and transferable skills.

Some things we’re ideally looking for include relevant operational or technical experience, a strong commitment to health and safety, and the ability to work well with others in a high trust environment. These are our must haves. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your respect for people and place, and your desire to be part of a team that’s making a real difference.

We'd love to kōrero.

Te Mata Hiko (Contact Energy) does not accept any CVs received from recruitment agencies where a formal engagement has not been confirmed and agreed to with our Talent team.
