Job Description
What is the role all about?
As our Business Development Executive – MICE, you’ll play a key role in driving conference, group and events business across Pullman & ibis Adelaide. Focused on building strong relationships and uncovering new opportunities, you will actively identify, convert and grow business within the MICE and corporate segments to achieve revenue targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively sourcing, developing and converting new MICE and corporate business opportunities
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients, PCOs and key industry partners
- Implementing a dynamic sales call plan aligned with market trends and business needs
- Maintaining and growing existing accounts to maximise revenue opportunities
- Collaborating with internal teams to deliver seamless client experiences and successful events
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity, providing insights to support sales strategies
- Representing the hotels and Accor brand at industry and networking events
- Maintaining accurate client records, activity tracking and pipeline management in CRM systems
Qualifications
Who will be successful?
You are a driven and relationship-focused sales professional with a passion for hospitality and a natural ability to connect with people. With proven success in sales—ideally within hotels, events, or tourism—you know how to turn conversations into meaningful business outcomes.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing energy, initiative and a proactive approach to sourcing and securing new opportunities, particularly within the MICE and corporate segments.
You’ll also bring:
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage and grow client relationships, turning rapport into repeat and new business
- Strong commercial acumen with a hunger to achieve and exceed revenue targets
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor your message to diverse audiences
- High level of organisation, time management and attention to detail, with confidence managing pipelines and CRM systems
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Confidence engaging with internal stakeholders to deliver seamless client and event experiences
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing business needs and market conditions
Previous experience in a hotel environment or knowledge of the Adelaide market will be highly regarded, along with exposure to conference and events sales.
Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
