Warehouse Associate/ Forklift Operator

Job description:

Our client is seeking Warehouse Associates to join their team in New London, CT.

Schedule: 1st shift (Monday-Friday)

Starting Rate: $19.00-$21.00/Hr.

Warehouse Associate Job Summary: This role is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing merchandise, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Warehouse Associate Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inbound and outbound freight handling including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment
• Accurately pick, pack, and distribute sales orders and transfers
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and discrepancy reporting
• Operate warehouse tools and material handling equipment safely while following standard operating procedures and PPE requirements
• Load, unload, move, and stock materials efficiently while ensuring proper documentation with bills of lading
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and report any hazards promptly

Warehouse Associate Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in warehousing or a related field
• Strong aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis

Physical Demands:

• Frequent lifting of 25–50 lbs., with occasional lifting up to 100 lbs., and pushing or pulling loads up to 300 lbs.
• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment for extended periods (up to 6 hours per day)
• Regular bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and sustained use of hands, arms, and feet
• Periods of sitting, standing, walking, and twisting throughout the shift
