Job Description
COMPREHENSIVE ATHLETE SUPPORT
Develop and implement comprehensive performance and health plans in collaboration with athletes, ensuring detailed musculoskeletal assessments and evidence-based interventions.
Deliver immediate care for sports injuries, creating effective recovery strategies for rapid rehabilitation.
Educate athletes and stakeholders on injury prevention and care, while maintaining seamless communication with the APC interdisciplinary team and global network.
Understands the physical therapist's role in athlete support and identifies clear roles and responsibilities in the interdisciplinary setting of athlete health and rehabilitation within a performance model.
Uphold high standards of professionalism through precise documentation, facility maintenance, and active engagement in strategic APC initiatives.
REHABILITATION AND RECOVERY
Create and manage tailored rehab programs for injured athletes, ensuring a safe and progressive return to peak performance.
Use evidence-based methods to accelerate recovery and minimize time loss from training and return to competition.
Work with the APC interdisciplinary team to blend rehabilitation with performance training and specific performance adaptations needed to accelerate return to sport within the unique world of Red Bull.
PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION AND ATHLETE EDUCATION
Collaborate with sports scientists, performance coaches and other subject matter experts to analyze key performance data to facilitate informed decisions in care planning, including the progressive return to sport.
Educate athletes on body mechanics, injury mitigation plans, recovery, and self-care to boost performance and mitigate risks.
Engage with athletes and coaches from different disciplines on technical and tactical principles in sport.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CONTRIBUTION
Remain current in the literature, including research and advancements in physical therapy techniques, strength and conditioning, sports medicine and sport science.
Integrate sports physical therapy with innovative practices and contribute to the APC team’s educational growth. Engage in continuous professional development through courses, workshops and special projects.
Travel and provide in-field support to key Red Bull athletes at training camps and competitions, this includes documenting and instructing technical and tactical principles in support of athletic performance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, 3-5 with elite athletes preferred
Experience in professional team preferred
Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment, including Biomechanics, Sport Science, Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and Mental Performance
Master's degree in physical therapy. Doctor of Physical Therapy degree preferred
Additional licensure and sport certifications preferred. (e.g. BOC Certified-Athletic Trainer, SCS, OCS, EMT, CSCS, and/or CPSS).
Significant experience in the delivery of long-term post-operative care, manual therapy treatment, acute/chronic diagnosis, prevention of sport related injuries and in-field support.
State license in California; must be in good standing with CA state licensure board
Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude, a passion for helping others, and an effective team player.
Energetic and enthusiastic, bringing motivation and encouragement to athletes and the APC with excellent communication and presentation skills
Rooted in evidence-based practices, an open mind to constantly evolve and develop the best team approach for athlete care.
Strong interest in multi-sport environment, with a good understanding of athlete management systems and monitoring technologies.
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $85,360 - $128,040 + cash incentives.
