JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Accounting Manager works closely with the Senior Director of Finance to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and yearly financial close. The Accounting Manager serves as a key liaison and control point in implementing and coordinating Eataly’s corporate accounting services, policies and initiatives. Reports to the Senior Director of Finance.
- Organizes and coordinates the month-end close with the Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury and Business Planning teams; validates and integrates sales and payroll general ledger files; reconciles key accounts on the balance sheet and income statement; reviews proper accounting of all bank transactions; makes adjusting entries as required
- Drives the preparation and consolidation of internal and external financial statements in US GAAP, ITA GAAP and IFRS, including analysis and reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Builds and maintains key internal department documents, including but not limited to chart of accounts, Accounting SOPs and policies, and accounting worksheets
- Builds and maintains backup schedules for various PL & BS line items, such as rent, utilities, contract revenue, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses and accrued expenses
- Identifies and implements process improvements within the Finance department, leveraging technology and AI where appropriate
- Supervises the accounting, collection, and reconciliation of corporate and retail trade receivables.
- Supports alignment between finance and business operations by providing guidance and implementing controls on activities such as third-party revenue channels.
- Coordinates timely file and payment of sales and use tax for all store locations
- Works directly with stakeholders and team members to prepare accounting reports and analysis.
- Assists in internal and external audits
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Finance and/or Accounting
- Advanced Excel e.g. index-match, sum-ifs, pivot-tables, templates
- Familiarity with US GAAP and willing to learn about ITA GAAP & IFRS
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics (Finance & Operations) or other similar ERP
- 6+ years of experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
- Ability to learn all aspects of Eataly’s retail, restaurant and digital operations within the scope of accounting
- Excellent communication skills
- Investigative thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fluid environment
Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 annual salary
