Job Description
- Lead capital projects from planning and design through installation, startup, and project closeout.
- Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify opportunities that improve reliability, efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout execution.
- Apply best practices in cost management, engineering design, utilities, controls, and safety.
- Review equipment specifications, proposals, and contracts to ensure technical and commercial requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and food safety regulations, including FSMA requirements.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource, recommending practical and cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and evaluate opportunities that can evolve into future capital investments.
Projects You'll Work On
This role offers a diverse portfolio of engineering and operational improvement projects, including:
- Mechanical systems such as ammonia compressors, boilers, and facility infrastructure upgrades.
- Processing improvements, equipment replacements, and automation enhancements.
- Byproduct optimization initiatives that create additional value from existing production streams.
- Product quality improvement projects that support faster time-to-market and operational efficiency.
- Strategic investments that improve facility performance and long-term profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Agricultural, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in project management, engineering, technical operations, or capital projects within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through completion.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and drive results with minimal oversight.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a consultative approach to improving operations and business outcomes.
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food processing, beverage manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods environments.
- Knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, or food safety regulations.
- Lean Manufacturing certification.
- PMP or other Project Management certification.
