The VP, Growth Marketing is a transformative executive leader responsible for crafting and driving Pinterest’s global growth strategy across the full user journey: acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization. This leader is accountable for delivering step-change impact in core business metrics—such as MAU, revenue, and LTV/CAC—while upholding Pinterest’s brand values and advancing its mission. The successful candidate will architect a best-in-class, data-driven, AI-enabled organization, steward significant growth budgets, prioritize high-leverage strategies, and inspire a culture founded on experimentation, collaboration, inclusion, and business accountability.
What you’ll do:
- Own the End-to-End Growth Strategy and KPI Delivery: Architect and execute Pinterest's strategy across acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization—directly accountable for bold growth of MAU, revenue, and LTV/CAC.
- Lead and Develop a World-Class Growth Organization: Attract, develop, and retain top-tier growth marketing, media, and analytics talent, fostering a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team culture.
- Drive an Experimentation and Portfolio Mindset: Build a learning-first environment focused on portfolio optimization and innovation—using rigorous A/B and multivariate testing at every stage of the funnel.
- Lead Cross-Functional Alignment and Influence: Serve as a principal partner to senior leaders in Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand, Regional Operations, and more, ensuring tight alignment of organizational priorities and joint execution of growth roadmaps.
- Advance Paid Performance and Brand Marketing Excellence: Oversee performance and brand media campaigns, integrating creative and channel execution to achieve maximum impact across all global surfaces.
- Own Measurement, Reporting, and Business Intelligence: Oversee the growth analytics and reporting agenda—define growth KPIs, ensure accurate attribution, drive real-time dashboarding, and deliver actionable insights to executives and the board.
- Drive AI and Data-Driven Marketing Transformation: Champion the development and deployment of AI-enabled strategies across targeting, personalisation, creative optimization, and campaign management, ensuring Pinterest remains at the forefront of ethical and responsible AI use.
- Champion a Growth-Forward, Collaborative Culture: Inspire a bold, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative approach—embracing experimentation, challenging the status quo, and scaling a culture built on accountability and shared success.
- Oversee Large-Scale Budget Management: Plan, allocate, and optimize substantial marketing budgets (>$100M) to ensure responsible stewardship and maximum ROI for Pinterest’s most critical growth programs.
- Deliver and Communicate Insights: Lead brand research, campaign and creative testing, and generate thought leadership to inform go-to-market strategy and elevate Pinterest’s standing with customers, partners, and the industry at large.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven Growth and Marketing Leadership: 15+ years’ progressive experience in high-scale growth marketing, performance, or lifecycle leadership roles, with significant consumer tech, marketplace, or SaaS exposure.
- Operator with Transformative Results: Recognized history of delivering major improvements to MAU, revenue, retention, and LTV/CAC, and managing all levers of a full-funnel strategy for both mature and challenger brands.
- Portfolio & Experimentation Mindset: Demonstrated mastery in prioritizing, testing, and scaling what works, with a hands-on orientation toward results and learning over mere activity.
- Deep Data & AI Fluency: Advanced analytical skills, with comfort leading teams in experimentation, incremental measurement, and leveraging AI/ML-driven marketing platforms and models.
- Inspirational Leader & Talent Developer: Proven record building and mentoring world-class, diverse organizations—focusing on high performance, accountability, and talent succession.
- World-Class Cross-Functional Collaborator: Natural relationship builder who aligns and mobilizes Product, Engineering, Analytics, and agency partners around common goals.
- Hands-On Growth Marketer: Credible as both strategist and functional marketing operator, unafraid to get into the “how” when needed.
- Experience with Large, Complex Budgets: Track record of owning and optimizing $100M+ multi-channel marketing spend.
- Brand + Performance Advocate: Deep belief in (and experience with) the integrated impact of brand and performance for durable, self-reinforcing growth.
- Executive Communication: Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders, including the C-Suite, board, Investor Relations, and as a public-facing thought leader representing Pinterest externally.
- Bachelor’s degree: in a relevant field such as business, marketing, data science or a related field or equivalent experience.
