Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsible for designing and developing mechanical solutions for industrial automation projects in production lines, ensuring the efficient integration of cobots, grippers, tooling, and mechanical structures. This position collaborates cross-functionally with controls, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to ensure functional, safe, and efficient solutions aligned with the organization’s quality, manufacturing, and safety standards. Additionally, the role provides technical support during project implementation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with technical, operational, and manufacturing requirements.

 

Main Responsibilities

• Design grippers, tooling, and mechanical structures for industrial automation applications.
• Develop 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing, assembly, and installation.
• Participate in the conceptualization and development of mechanical solutions for cobot and automated system integration.
• Validate designs considering ergonomics, safety, tolerances, materials, and cost requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including controls, manufacturing, quality, and safety throughout project execution.
• Provide technical support during implementation, commissioning, and ramp-up phases of automated equipment.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, industrial safety regulations, and manufacturing best practices.
• Select appropriate mechanical components and materials for each application.
• Participate in technical reviews and continuous improvement activities related to automation and mechanical design.

Requisitos

Knowledge and Experience:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical design for industrial automation or production lines.
• SolidWorks or Inventor, or another design software.
• Basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic knowledge.
• Design for Manufacturing.
• Selection of materials and treatments.
• Electromechanical knowledge.
• Generation of mechanical drawings, including GD&T.
