Job Description

Job Purpose/Summary: 

What is the overall purpose of the role? What are the high level objectives/business impact/scope and responsibilities?

  • This role includes the responsibility of handling instruments such as spectroscopy, Chromatography, thermal and rheometer to interpret data, method development and make scientific reports with proper conclusions.

  • Understand the product design and application and connect the same with material science for proper interpretation.

  • Interact /Interface with all sections of the Regional & Global Technical Teams and component experts, as well as the Manufacturing team.

  • Need to work with the technical service/ process/ quality functions to help in solving problems related to customer complaints etc.

  • The candidate should blend knowledge of polymer science with cutting-edge digital literacy (AI tools and Google Workspace etc) to deliver rapid, insightful scientific reports and support global technical teams. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical solutions using material science 

    • Understand the existing product technically and link the same with material science

    • Lead problem-solving lab requests with appropriate technical methods

    • Technical recommendation and solution to the requester on the problem

    • Provide timely, detailed technical reports to resolve the complaints.

    • Cross-functional team management/communication to close the Analytical requests

    • Work with COP and Global subject matter experts to establish new methods

    • Be a local SME for analytical-related quality issues 

    • Provide technical support to a cross-functional team.

  • Technical support to project team 

    • Analyze and identify performance gaps between the performance of existing product construction and how customers & end-users expect it to perform. Determine and suggest necessary actions to improve the performance of existing product construction to meet with customers & end-users’ requirements.

  • Resolve technical problems, troubleshoot and recommend technical solutions to meet customer needs and requirements.

  • Assess stakeholder needs in order to recommend appropriate methods and analytical tools.  Investigate new methods or improvements to resolve the requirement products with customers and work with NPD teams in projects to assess testing and performance requirements

  • Gain a preliminary understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements related to product and market applications.

  • Leverage modern AI tools to accelerate documentation, literature review, data analysis and technical writing workflows. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Essential: PhD. or M.Tech. in Polymer Science, Material Characterization, Analytical Chemistry, Printing & Packaging, or a related engineering/scientific discipline.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of industrial experience in material characterization, analytical chemistry, or polymer product development and commercialization.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Core Instruments: Hands-on proficiency and strong theoretical knowledge in Chromatography, Rheology, Spectroscopy, and Thermal Analysis instruments and physical testing instruments

  • Communication: Exceptional written & verbal English communication skills, with an ability to write rigorous technical reports. 

  • Preliminary understanding of global regulatory and compliance standards related to polymer and packaging applications. 

  • Data & Digital Literacy: Strong knowledge of statistical tools and common computer software (Google Workspace-desirable). Familiarity with utilizing AI tools to optimize research efficiency is a strong plus.
