• Lead the system engineering and technical execution for the SSP module, including electric motor, inverter, and associated subsystems, ensuring delivery from concept through production.
• Own responsibility for module development and integration, ensuring alignment with Scout program milestones and maintaining the critical path to SOP.
• Coordinate cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration with Group engineering, suppliers, and internal Scout teams to enable seamless integration without impacting program timing or release commitments.
• Drive program execution and timing adherence, ensuring all engineering deliverables meet key milestones, release gates, and quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members, supporting DREs and validation teams in developing robust system and subsystem specifications.
• Lead risk identification, escalation, and mitigation planning, particularly for critical-path activities, and drive cross-functional recovery plans where required.
• Track and report key system metrics including cost, mass, performance, and investment, ensuring alignment with program targets.

Location & Travel Expectations:

• This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
• This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
• 12+ years of experience in powertrain engineering and serial development
• Experience developing technical talent
• Strong expertise in electric motors, inverters, and EDU systems, preferably within Group programs
• Project management and multi-system coordination through all phases of development and production
• Experience leading projects and people (directly or indirectly) with strong interpersonal skills, accountability, problem solving and analytical thinking
• Experience with drive unit testing, validation methods, and procedures
• Familiarity with production environments and launch readiness at global manufacturing facilities
• Knowledge of engineering processes and tools
• High level of accountability, ownership, and ability to drive decisions under ambiguity
• Experience with system engineering methodologies, CAE tools, and product development processes
• High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $160,000.00 - $192,500.00
