An exciting leadership opportunity is available at Epworth Freemasons for a dynamic and visionary leader to join the team as Associate Director of Clinical Services (ADCS), Perioperative. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead and shape high‑quality perioperative services, driving clinical excellence, operational performance, and patient‑centred care within a leading private healthcare organisation.
The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, clear vision, and strategic direction, while ensuring highly effective operational management of perioperative clinical services across Epworth Freemasons’ Albert Street and Victoria Parade hospitals.

As one of Victoria's leading maternity hospitals, Epworth Freemasons specialises in women’s and men’s health services including breast, gynaecological & obstetrics, IVF, endoscopy, urology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, maxillofacial, ear, nose, and throat and general surgery. Epworth Freemasons also offers comprehensive cancer care, and a full range of surgical services, including robotic assisted surgery, orthopaedics and ICU care.
Epworth Freemasons has recently upgraded and expanded its operating theatres and admissions facilities, along with major refurbishments of patient rooms and building infrastructure.
You will make an impact by:
- Managing the operational and business direction of the Perioperative Services inclusive of Operating Suites, CSSD, Day of Surgery Admissions and Short Stay Unit.
- Lead and engage the nursing and clinical workforce to deliver agreed clinical services and achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Focusing on theatre utilisation, growth, business development, risk management.
- Building engaged teams and developing a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Strong ability to lead teams through change, fostering engagement, resilience, and continuous improvement.
To be successful in the role you will:
- Demonstrated extensive leadership experience across all major perioperative service areas including Operating Theatres, Maternity, Endoscopy, Fertility (IVF), CSSD, PACU, Day of Surgery Admissions and Short Stay Unit
- Demonstrated capability in budget management, ensuring an appropriate balance between cost efficiency and service delivery, with a strong focus on managing labour hours and achieving key performance indicators.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to build and maintain rapport and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and service growth / efficiencies.
- Management of human and material resources to meet organisational requirements for cost efficient service delivery whilst maintaining high standards of safe care and service delivery of patients, VMOs and staff.
- Clinical knowledge in service delivery in accordance with legislated requirements, industry codes of practice and relevant standards and organisational policy and procedures in perioperative settings.

Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative nursing and/or management is highly desirable
- Registered Nurse, with current registration – Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
