Job Description
This teaching focused position will require the appointee to undertake teaching in pharmacy practice, therapeutics, and related areas, including vaccination and pharmacist prescribing. In addition, the appointee will be required to work on pharmacy curriculum matters as part of the Pharmacy team reporting to the Head of School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Facilitate delivery of contemporary curriculum that aligns with and adapts to emerging pharmacist roles.
- Develop and deliver course material and assessment informed by current clinical and pharmacy knowledge.
- Foster and engage in learning and teaching evaluation (scholarship) and identify ongoing education improvements in consultation with program and course convenors.
- Promote an outstanding student experience across the spectrum of the University’s undergraduate, and postgraduate program suite and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching activities.
- Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection.
- Participate in relevant leadership activities including course management and pharmacy program support.
- Promote and enhance student learning experiences through engagement with industry and community stakeholders to develop work integrated learning opportunities and support employability initiatives.
- Be a leading example of the principles and values embodied in the University’s Code of Conduct, and behave, act and communicate at all times to reflect fairness, ethics and professionalism.
This is a part-time (0.8FTE), continuing position based at the Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to Pharmacy practice.
In addition to the above, you will hold or be able to demonstrate:
- A degree in Pharmacy with substantial professional experience relevant to the discipline, including at least 3 years working within a clinical pharmacy environment.
- Prior Experience with teaching therapeutics and / or pharmacy practice in a higher education setting, and technology enhanced learning is desirable.
- Current professional registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) and already have or be working towards credentialling for expanded scope of practice.
- Experience delivering vaccinations and related training is desirable.
