Bookkeeper
Central Maine (Hybrid, full-time or part-time)
Our client, a CPA firm in Central Maine, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This role may be structured as either full-time or part-time, depending on candidate preference and business needs, and offers a hybrid work schedule.
### Requirements of the Bookkeeper:
5+ years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper, with a strong background in managing end-to-end accounting functions
QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Online experience
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong time management skills and ability to work in a deadline driven environment
Self-motivated and organized
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, staff members, and partners

### Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper:
Maintain financial records for monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping clients
Determine & post journal entries
Perform monthly account reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly financial statements
Maintain client fixed asset schedules
Calculate, file, and pay monthly & quarterly sales tax returns
Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
Prepare year-end W2s and 1099s
Research special projects as they arise
