Position Summary

The SAP EWM Lead / Architect is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and optimization of advanced warehouse management solutions (using SAP S/4 EWM) to drive operational distribution productivity and raise customer service levels. This role ensures a scalable, efficient, and integrated supply chain execution platform that enables operational KPIs including OTIF, inventory accuracy, ATP, and productivity.

In this role, you will also serve as the bridge between distribution operations and technical IT teams (domestic and off-shore). You will be responsible for architecting end-to-end solutions within the warehousing and transportation processes, ensuring seamless integrations and execution, reducing operational costs, and driving digital transformation. The SAP EWM Lead partners with operations, IT leadership, and third-party providers to align warehouse technology capabilities with business objectives, while driving innovation across distribution and manufacturing networks.

What You’ll Get to Do

EWM Solution Design & Implementation

  • Lead the design and deployment of SAP EWM solutions, translating complex business requirements into simplified, practical, and scalable system processes and designs.
  • Configure core EWM functionality, including inbound, outbound, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, and cross-docking processes.
  • Define warehouse layout structures, storage control strategies, & resource frameworks.
  • Evaluate and implement POS solutions relevant to distribution centers.
  • Drive end-to-end implementations, including testing (UAT, integration), data migration, and system cutover partnering with resources that are domestic and off-shore.

Integration & Automation Enablement

  • Integrate SAP EWM with ERP modules (MM, SD, PP), Transportation Management, and external automation systems.
  • Enable connectivity with warehouse control systems (WCS), material flow systems (MFS), and RF/mobile solutions.
  • Design and support APIs, IDocs, and interface frameworks for seamless system interoperability.

Optimization & Operational Support

  • Monitor system performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Partner with operations to enhance productivity, inventory accuracy, and service levels.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users and super users to ensure adoption and effectiveness.

Technical Development & Architecture (as applicable)

  • Lead the blueprinting, design, and configuration of SAP EWM and TM modules to meet complex business requirements.
  • Architect the EWM-TM seamless integration (Advanced SR/Shipping & Receiving, EWM-TM direct integration) to optimize end-to-end logistics.
  • Define best practices for master data setups, including business partners, transportation networks, resources, and warehouse layouts.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in SAP supply chain solutions, with deep expertise in EWM. 5+ years working with strategic vendor partners using an on-shore – off-shore model.
  • 5+ years Minimum of 2 full-lifecycle EWM implementations on SAP S/4HANA.
  • Proven experience with EWM-TM integration, SAP S/4HANA embedded architecture, CIF, and IDocs/Web Services. Know-how of bridging technical details using Fiori and ABAP.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
  • SAP certified in EWM or TM (highly preferred).
  • Experience working in multi-site distribution or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder influencing and management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across IT, operations, and executive leadership.
