Assists in front desk duties in answering the phone, making appointments, checking in patients. Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials, passing instruments and materials, performing procedures in compliance with procedures and protocols. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team!

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcome customers in the dental office
  • Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operations of the Tribe

Necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Demonstrates ability to produce neat, properly formatted typed copy. 
  • Demonstrates ability to handle office procedures efficiently. 
  • Demonstrates ability to deal with co-workers and clients in a friendly manner. 
  • Demonstrates ability to learn assigned tasks and adhere to prescribed department policies and procedures. 
  • Demonstrates respect for and awareness of Native American customs and traditions. 
  • Skilled in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications. 

Requirements

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be insurable through the Tribe’s vehicle insurance required.
  • Must pass a criminal and fingerprint background check according to P.L. 101-630 standards required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening required.
  • Must pass the dental credentialing process required.
  • Must be Fluent in English and Spanish

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma, equivalent GED or higher required.
  • Experience in typing and basic secretarial skills required.
  • Preferred experience in a dental clinic setting.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:

  • Must possess, maintain, and provide proof of a valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must obtain, maintain and provide proof of a valid First Aid and CPR certification within three (3) months of start date required.
