Schedule: Day Continental (08:00–20:00)
Pay Rate: CA$19.83/hour

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking a professional and customer-focused Security Guard to join our team at One Queen Street East, a premier 503,000-square-foot office property located in the heart of downtown Toronto at the iconic Yonge and Queen intersection.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with the public, maintaining a safe environment, and providing exceptional customer service. As a Security Guard, you will conduct proactive patrols, respond to incidents and emergencies, enforce property policies, and serve as a visible and approachable presence for tenants, guests, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors
• Conduct highly visible foot patrols throughout assigned areas of the property
• Monitor and enforce property rules, regulations, and access control procedures
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections and emergency preparedness activities
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and investigate security concerns
• Control vehicle traffic on the property when required
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED assistance until emergency responders arrive
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized individuals in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act
• Maintain detailed memo books and complete accurate incident and occurrence reports
• Assist emergency services and law enforcement personnel as required
• De-escalate conflicts and crisis situations professionally
• Support property management and security operations through effective communication and teamwork
• Perform additional duties as assigned by site management

Requirements

Must Have

• Minimum 1 year of prior security experience
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
• Comfortable interacting with tenants, guests, visitors, and members of the public

Nice to Have

• Experience in physical security or commercial property security
• Experience in shopping mall or retail security environments
• Experience working in busy downtown or high-volume public spaces
• Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
