Role Summary
We are seeking a highly trustworthy, organized, and process-driven professional to lead and coordinate a team supporting confidential quantitative trading strategies and Quant Order Execution Systems. This role will report directly to the Head of the function and will be responsible for team building and managing junior support staff, formalizing operational procedures, supporting onboarding for new Quant Portfolio Managers, and building robust change management and operational governance practices.
The successful candidate will serve as a key bridge between trading, portfolio management, technology, and operational support teams across regions. Given the sensitive nature of the strategies and workflows involved, this individual must demonstrate strong integrity, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information with the highest level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, organize, and coordinate a team of junior quant trading support staff.
- Set clear responsibilities, priorities, and escalation paths for the team.
- Ensure high standards of operational support, responsiveness, and control within the group.
- Coach and develop junior staff to strengthen operational discipline, process consistency, and ownership.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.
Quant Strategy Operations Support
- Learn and understand the operational workflows and support requirements of confidential quantitative trading strategies.
- Translate strategy-related operational needs into structured and controlled support processes.
- Ensure the team is equipped to support day-to-day quantitative trading operations effectively and reliably.
- Partner closely with compliance, operation, and technology teams to ensure smooth operational support for live trading activities.
Process Formalization & Operational Governance
- Review existing operating practices and identify opportunities to formalize, standardize, and improve workflows.
- Design, document, and maintain operating procedures, controls, playbooks, and support models for quant trading operations.
- Establish robust governance, escalation, incident management, and operational reporting frameworks.
- Drive process efficiency, transparency, and consistency across support activities.
Change Management
- Build and implement formal change management processes for strategy operations and supporting workflows.
- Coordinate operational readiness for system, process, and model-related changes.
- Ensure proper documentation, communication, control, and post-change review are in place.
- Reduce operational risk through structured implementation and change governance.
Onboarding of New Quant Portfolio Managers
- Lead operational onboarding for new Quant Portfolio Managers and related trading activities.
- Define onboarding checklists, support models, required controls, access requirements, and readiness milestones.
- Coordinate across trading, operations, risk, compliance, technology, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient onboarding.
- Help new PMs transition smoothly into production support and operational processes.
Cross-Regional Stakeholder Management
- Work effectively with teams across multiple regions and time zones.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders in trading, portfolio management, compliance, and operations.
- Ensure consistent operational standards while accommodating regional requirements where needed.
Requirements
- Strong Management, Organization and Communication skills.
- Experience in building Change Managing Processes, Disaster Recovery Drills and Documentation Guidelines.
- Experience in building and managing teams distributed in multiple locations.
- Strong Technical Background with up-to-date understanding of technology trends.
- Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
