Work Arrangement:

Home-based work environment with frequent field travel - up to 60%. This role must reside somewhere in the Eastern region - ideally near a major hub for accessible travel which will include annual Sales meetings, and visits to our headquarters in Red Wing, MN.  At Red Wing, regardless of working in roles that are fully remote, onsite, or hybrid, what matters most is working together, staying connected, and putting care into everything we do.

General Purpose of Job:

The Region Director of Wholesale is responsible for developing and executing business development strategies to grow wholesale business across our work and hunt brands in the independent account segment. They will lead a team of territory sales managers and territory account reps, ensuring effective execution of the strategies in the field and attainment of revenue and profitability goals. In addition, this role will work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to ensure the success of the entire North America Work (DTC, Wholesale, Industrial) organization.  

Essential Duties: 

  • Responsible for delivering wholesale revenue, volume and other critical targets for the defined region by growing both the existing and net new account base. 

  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of sales managers to deliver the right level of service for each customer to drive sales team focus and a positive customer experience. 

  • Partners with sales, revenue operations, product and marketing leadership to define and develop wholesale sales and customer support strategies to drive market share and revenue growth in alignment with corporate objectives.  

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and cross-functional stakeholders. 

  • Work cross functionally to deploy and enable adoption of processes, menu of services, tools and training in support of Wholesale strategies; ensures sales team is leveraging sales methodology, and effectively managing sales pipeline 

  • Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions 

  • Manage assigned staff: provide clear goals and expectations; ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities; coach; manage performance; develop; salary administration; enforce systems, policies and procedures; recruit, select and onboard new employees 

Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE 

  • Work experience in business, sales, sales management, marketing, and/ or a related field of study, with a minimum of 7 years of sales experience including leading and mentoring a team; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience operating in a matrix-sales environment  

  • Experience creating and implementing successful sales initiatives and plans 

  • Experience with leveraging CRM software such as Salesforce.com, to profitably manage sales pipeline 

  • Experience with effectively leading sales teams in a highly networked organization preferred 

  • Experience in selling premium footwear, workwear, or safety solutions preferred  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES 

  • Demonstrated ability to get results through influence and collaboration with organizational partners 

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently and effectively leverage a dynamic sales process resulting in increased revenue and profitability, including prospecting, developing opportunities, closing new business, onboarding accounts, and growing existing accounts 

  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline to achieve sales goals and defined KPIs 

  • Strong financial and business acumen; understands the dynamics of the business and the business strategy 

  • Strong communication and analytical skills required, including the ability to interpret and articulate business needs and challenges, and formulate pragmatic, effective recommendations.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
